In a world where real news and fake news overlay, and social acceptability is considered on a sliding scale, how we see ourselves and each other often conflates and conflicts. Poetically examining how we individuate in contemporary society, this work creates a world of visual and aural interference pattern: Moiré — a phenomenon where the human brain involuntarily perceives a third unpredictable pattern while observing two repetitive misaligned grids superimposed on each other. This show transcends the spectacular to the phenomenological: from seeing to experiencing.
An excerpt of Walking at Night by Myself will tour to Hong Kong at the Sound Forms Festival in 2019. Further development of this work commences in August 2019, with the full-length work premiering at OpenEars Festival in Ontario in 2020.
