The East Van Panto Summer Camp for Kids Returns!
Over a five-day workshop, children will be introduced to the Panto form, workshop scenes from past East Van Pantos and learn songs and choreography. They will also be given the opportunity to work with PantoLand facilitators and guest teachers to explore their own Panto ideas, creating scenes, songs and dances with costumes, props and sets. PantoLand will inspire participants to be creative and expressive, generating unique ideas by utilizing all the skills brought into the room by children and adults alike. The program is a fantastic week of playing, growing and learning for the kids! The children are encouraged to pursue their unique ideas and develop a creative ownership inside their process. The ethos behind the East Van Panto is that families will enjoy and actively participate in the performing arts together and that communities — especially children — will see themselves reflected on stage. This ethos extends to every aspect of PantoLand!
Due to popular demand, we are running two camps this year, and increasing capacity!
70 local kids will be invited into the whacky and wonderful world of the Panto. Our camps are led by a team of accredited teachers and members of the East Van Panto’s core creative team. At the end of the camp, participants will get to perform onstage at The Cultch for their families and friends.
